In 2013, we realized a need in the Lancaster County community for a different banking experience – one that focuses on relationships rather than transactions, one that was willing to go off the beaten path to meet its customers’ needs.

With a mission to provide quality banking services with integrity in the markets we serve, Bank of Bird-in-Hand opened its doors in December 2013 in the heart of Lancaster County’s Plain Community, in the quaint village of Bird-in-Hand. At that time, we were the first bank in the United States to gain a charter since 2010, and we remain the only bank in PA to open since 2008.

Since then, we’ve continued to grow, opening branches in the towns of Intercourse, Paradise, Ephrata, Manheim, Schaefferstown and in the Lykens Valley. We launched our Mobile Branch fleet – fully equipped RVs offering everything you’d find in any bank building. These Mobile Branches allow Bank of Bird-in-Hand to bring services to those who traditionally have been underserved by the banking industry, and travel the country roads of Lancaster, Chester, and Berks Counties. We continue to provide services, such as telephone banking and courier services, that have gone by the wayside at other banks.

Hello, I'm Nicole Aquilini, a dedicated real estate professional with deep roots in Lancaster County, where I currently reside in Manheim Township. Originally hailing from Berks County, I bring a strong familiarity with Lancaster and its surrounding areas, offering unique insights into the local market and communities. 

My professional journey has been shaped by a diverse range of experiences. I began my career working with children and their support systems in the behavioral health field, which helped me develop patience, empathy, and the ability to navigate complex situations -- skills that are invaluable when guiding clients through one of life's most signficant decisions. Later, I led teams of over 200 people in hotel operations and food and beverage management, honing my leadership, organizational abilities, and commitment to exceptional service. 

These experiences, combined with my love for education and ongoing desire to learn, have given me a unique approach to real estate. I take pride in educating my clients, ensuring they feed confident and informed at ever stage of the process. Above all, I bring a personal touch to my work, tailoring each experience to meet the specific needs and goals of the individuals and families I serve.

Hello, I'm Shawn Miller, deeply rooted in Lancaster County. Currently residing in Manheim Township with my family, I am well-acquainted with all townships in the county.

With a business degree and a strong connection to Lancaster, I am equipped to guide you seamlessly through every aspect of your real estate transaction. My professional journey includes diverse experiences, starting as a cabinet installer. I gained expertise in kitchen and bath remodeling, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and flooring. Additional experiences include working on a paving crew, contributing to summer camps with maintenance tasks, and serving as a Lancaster County Deputy Sheriff for a decade. Since 2015, I've been a realtor, actively buying and selling homes in the Lancaster area. I look forward to assisting both buyers and sellers, leveraging my skills to simplify the real estate process and provide every advantage.
